Slating and Tiled Roofing Services

Our homes all have roofs.  We may well have slate, clay, concrete tiles, or even thatched beauties.  The one thing that they all have in common, is that they will all leak at some point in their lifetime, possibly from the valleys, the lead, the bitumen, the felt, or even simply damaged slates or tiles.

Our roofs take all the force of weather, from snow, rain, wind, sun and the build up of moss.  An issue can quickly become a big problem, with buckets in strategic places to stop the water forming puddles on the floor.  That doesn’t include the internal damage that can occur with ingress to our homes.

Replacing a whole roof could be very expensive because of the damage that could have occurred, so maintenance to ensure our roofs stay wind and watertight is a sensible option.

Regular maintenance will extend the life of a roof.   We would avise a gutter clear in Autumn and Spring and a roof check at the same time.

We provide a yearly, or bi-yearly gutter clear out and roof inspection plan

Clay tiles seem to have a longer lifespan than concrete tiles, but they are more expensive and you may be limited to matching the types of tiles or slates that are already on your roof.

There are times that using reclaimed tiles is appropriate.  These are tiles that have been removed from an existing roof and can be re-installed onto a different roof.  Many people prefer this when they are trying to match a new extension or roofed conservatory, so that they can get a closer match with the main part of their home.

Concrete tiles are available in a range of different sizes and colours and are mainly seen on the newer build homes as they are slightly cheaper and the tiles come in a range of larger sizes which helps with coverage of large areas.

We can help you in emergencies, to make safe, or to provide you a scope of work that is required for a roof failure, strip and reslate / retile, or to simply fix a couple of broken tiles.
