One of the most frequent things we are asked about is the issue of how to fix broken gutters and drainpipe failures. Many roof failures are solely down to the fact that gutters have not been maintained, and has allowed damage to the roof.
It is common for the failure of gutters and drainpipes to affect homes and businesses. Our gutters are there to catch the rainfall off our roofs and channel the water down to appropriate drains, to help keep our homes dry. A build up of moss and rubbish in our gutters can mean that rainfall backs up, and is forced into our homes to cause unsightly and expensive damage. With the climate in Aberdeen, our gutters and drainpipes take a lot of harsh punishment, and need to be helped along to keep them clear and functioning.
Broken gutters and drainpipes can also cause flooding around our homes, as well as the unsightly mess of water pouring through broken pipes.
We would avise a gutter clear out in Autumn and Spring - and a roof check at the same time.
At the very minimum we would advise a gutter clean out and a roof check once a year to identify key faults and allow time for these to be carried out.
Gutter clearouts will be included in the price, however any repairs or replacements required to gutters, drainpipes and roof structures will be priced at the time of the inspection.
